I’m Lizzie a.k.a. the graduate gourmet!
I’m a 20 something student at the University of Utah. I work as a cognitive tutor for a pair of clinical psychologists at their start up company in Salt Lake City. I have 3 show jumping horses, 2 pups, and one amazing boyfriend that take up my in between class and work time and I have one serious obsession with my kitchen and the things I can make there.
A lot of my time is spent studying or at least asleep on a large pile of textbooks, but I have other interests besides my degree… like cooking (big surprise i know) that I’m in a constant fight to make time for. Some days are harder than others, but they all work out in the end and if anything at least their all an adventure!
I really started cooking a lot as a freshman at Santa Clara University in Northern California. I’d always loved cooking but hadn’t spent tons of time with it until I got to school and had no better way to get over being home sick than stuffing my face with cookie dough and spending time in our gorgeous dorm kitchen (that’s not a joke… we really had a nice kitchen).

Here I am at SCU baking coconut chocolate chip cookies and pretending to do my ethics homework... you can thank my lovely college roomate for the"flattering" picture
After Santa Clara I returned to my state of origin (Utah) and enrolled at the university. My boyfriend and I bought a house and I haven’t left the kitchen since moving in… Ok well sometimes.
I’m no professional and I use a point and shoot camera (i’m definitely no photographer haha), but I love cooking and sharing all of my kitchen adventures with others! Everything I make is something you could throw together in a dorm kitchen with the odd arrangement of utensils borrowed from the front desk. It isn’t always pretty, but it’s usually pretty yummy.
So, that’s me in a nutshell I hope you enjoy my site and believe me if I can make it you totally can.
